About the Role

Join our innovative team as an Engineering Team Lead, driving the development of critical Node.js/Typescript services for Deel's rapidly expanding global HR and payroll platform. Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and grow a talented team of software engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, robust, and high-performance Node.js/Typescript applications.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, maintainability, and security through code reviews, best practices, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to define requirements, plan sprints, and deliver impactful features.
• Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap, making key architectural decisions and driving technical initiatives.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the reliability and stability of our systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development, with significant hands-on experience in Node.js and Typescript.
• Proven experience in a technical leadership role, including managing, mentoring, or leading a team of engineers.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and API design principles.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and database technologies (SQL/NoSQL).
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, remote-first, and globally distributed team environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with global payroll, HR, or FinTech platforms.
• Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
• Contributions to open-source projects or a strong technical portfolio.
• Experience working in a hyper-growth SaaS company.
