Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of payroll specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
• Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for Germany, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with local regulations.
• Act as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for complex German payroll queries and escalations.
• Implement and refine payroll processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
• Ensure strict adherence to German labor law, social security contributions, and tax regulations.
• Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and data flow.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the payroll function.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) in German payroll operations, including a deep understanding of local tax and social security laws.
• Demonstrated experience (2+ years) in a team leadership or supervisory role within a payroll department.
• Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a remote, fast-paced, and evolving environment.
• Fluency in both German and English (written and spoken) is essential.
• Proficiency with payroll software and HRIS systems.
