Responsibilities

• Take ownership of major features from conception to delivery, collaborating closely with design and product teams.
• Drive the technical direction and future development of the Android team.
• Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for critical app features.
• Actively participate in cross-functional discussions with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, providing constructive feedback and mentoring teammates.
• Address critical issues and navigate unexpected technical challenges effectively.
• Manage feature releases, including providing nightly builds for quality assurance.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on Android development.
• Deep familiarity with core Android components and the Android ecosystem.
• Proven experience building or significantly contributing to at least one shipped Android application.
• Strong product design intuition and a high degree of user empathy.
• Passion for pushing the boundaries of Android UI/UX and delivering delightful user experiences.
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies and experience writing comprehensive unit and integration tests.
• Proactive mindset with a drive to continuously improve the app and codebase.
• Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin, including Kotlin Coroutines and Kotlin Flow.
• Extensive experience with Dagger 2, MVVM, and Clean Architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience with Android Background Services, Music Player Service, Android Animations, and Jetpack Navigation.
• Strong experience with JUnit for testing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A user-oriented approach to problem-solving.

• Contributions to Android open-source projects.
• Experience with other platforms such as iOS, Web, or backend technologies like NodeJS.
