Telugu Localization Expert (Science)

About the Role

Join Khan Academy's mission to provide free, world-class education by localizing essential Math and Science content into Telugu, reaching millions of learners across India.

Responsibilities

• Review, edit, and create localized Telugu content (videos and text) for Math and Science, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and pedagogical soundness.
• Manage a team of 5-6 localization experts, guiding their work and conducting quality audits.
• Collaborate with state teachers to gather feedback and incorporate it into the localized content.
• Develop and maintain a glossary of Telugu scientific terminology.
• Adapt Khan Academy's Style Guide for Telugu localization.

Requirements

• Native Telugu speaker with fluency in both spoken and written Telugu.
• Strong understanding of Science concepts up to Class XII level.
• Proven ability to manage a team of 5-6 individuals.
• Keen eye for detail and commitment to quality assurance.
• Proficiency in English to accurately understand and translate source material.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience studying or teaching in a Telugu medium school.
• Background in online teaching, video creation, or localization.
• Familiarity with Computer Assisted Translation (CAT) tools and video editing software.
