Vice President, Enterprise Transformation & Finance Strategy

About the Role

GitLab is seeking a VP of Enterprise Transformation & Finance Strategy to architect and lead the strategic evolution of our Finance function, driving enterprise-wide business transformation as we scale as a public company.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the CFO's key partner on strategically significant cross-functional initiatives, including Lead-to-Cash optimization, consumption-based model transition, and global expansion strategy.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive Finance transformation strategy and roadmap, including process optimization, technology enablement, and organizational evolution.
• Lead redesign of core finance processes to drive efficiency, accuracy, and scalability, implementing automation and reengineering processes.
• Own the finance technology roadmap, evaluating and implementing enterprise solutions and driving adoption of emerging technologies.
• Champion AI and automation integration across the finance function and enterprise transformation programs.
• Partner to ensure transformation initiatives maintain and enhance existing control frameworks and support SOX compliance.
• Build and lead the Finance Transformation Office, establishing governance frameworks and executive-level reporting.

Requirements

• Proven experience in enterprise transformation, finance strategy, and program management within a high-growth technology company.
• Strong understanding of financial planning, reporting, close, consolidation, and revenue recognition processes.
• Experience with lead-to-cash optimization, consumption-based business models, and global expansion strategies.
• Expertise in finance technology evaluation, selection, and implementation (e.g., FP&A, ERP, BI tools).
• Demonstrated ability to lead change management and drive cross-functional alignment with executive leadership.
• Experience with AI and automation in finance functions.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal controls.
