Web Designer

About the Role

Join B12 as a Web Designer and be a key contributor to our company's success, leveraging our design suite to create initial websites for customers based on AI-generated drafts. This role offers a creative environment where you can focus on design, collaborate with customer success, and help small and medium-sized businesses establish their online presence.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret customer briefs to understand their content and preferences.
• Utilize our Design Suite (a WYSIWYG editor with HTML5/CSS override support) to build initial customer websites, typically within 4 hours, based on AI-generated drafts.
• Implement enhancement requests for existing customer websites, ranging from minor adjustments to complex customizations and design improvements.
• Collaborate with the customer success team and design leads, actively providing and receiving feedback to refine designs.
• Contribute to the co-design and improvement of our internal Design Suite and the open-source workflow management tool, Orchestra.

Requirements

• Excellent written English communication skills.
• 3-5 years of web design experience, with a passion for customer-focused website delivery. (We are flexible on years of experience, prioritizing talent and interest.)
• 1-2 years of experience with HTML/CSS.
• Availability to work a minimum of 10 hours and a maximum of 20 hours per week.
• Proven ability to transform unstructured customer content and requests into pixel-perfect, responsive web designs across all devices.
• Experience with both desktop and mobile web design.
• Eagerness to learn and master our proprietary Design Suite.
• A collaborative mindset, comfortable receiving feedback and advocating for design decisions.
